Citing your references...

Always important to acknowledge where you obtained a piece of financial data if you are quoting it within an assignment....

Key Note Changes


Not as detailed as the financial information on FAME but Keynote Database now includes some profit & loss, balance sheet and ratios. The option would for example quickly be able to provide an end of year profit figure for a company such as Tesco if required.

Easy as Pie - the FAME database


The FAME database allows you to manipulate company information as PIE Charts. Depicted on the left are the Top Ten Airline Companies in the UK. If you want advice on how to do this contact me.

If you know the name of a company's CEO or head honcho this can be a great way to find out about the company's policies and directions using the Newsbank database.

This week's Mary Portas article 'Shop !' is a reflective one ( Telegraph Magazine 13th March ). Surprisingly of the numerous businesses that Mary has looked at in these excellent pieces, only two have disappeared ....

If you are doing your project on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) don't neglect the considerable amount of information which you might find in print resources such as the Journal of Business Ethics ( pictured ). Browsing through a box of these in the Social Learning Centre may give you some ideas of the type of material which is being written about.
